Why do I need this service?
If you own a website and you rely on it to bring in leads and sales, this services is for you for two important reasons:
#1. You have a website because you want visitors to learn about your business and contact you. However, if the user experience is flawed, whether by form that doesn’t fill out or a browser notification indicating your site is potentially dangerous these do not bode well for a good user experience and users are less likely to reach out. So we visit your site to look for these types of issues and clear them up. And they absolutely do happen.
#2. Technical maintenance, security and uptime monitoring. It’s important to keep the site updated and secure to keep hackers out. We also monitor the site and are notified quickly if the site should go down so we can investigate.
Businesses lose money every day because of ineffective or broken websites, but this doesn’t have to be you! A Website Integrity Plan ensures that somebody is on your site every month, looking for these types of issues that will create a poor user experience.
Wasn’t my website built right in the first place?
The short answer is likely less. If you used a reputable developer, but it’s often not the site set up that’s the issue. Think of your website like a car. You drive it off the lot and it’s in pristine condition. However, there’s lunatics on the road who can hit you (hackers, malware) and over time, things start to rattle and shake if you don’t maintain it properly (backups, updates) and sometimes, parts just stop working (Captcha failing on your form.)
If you were to build even a simple WordPress site from scratch with the same functionality, you’d be spending tens of thousands of dollars, and a complex site, probably over $100,000. The reason WordPress sites are so cheap is because the elements are communally developed, which means …
Why do I need an ongoing plan when my web host updates my WordPress version?
Web hosting providers may or may not update your WordPress software for you (please check their policy), but all web hosts will not update your plugins. Some hosts update your plugins too, but this is only a small part of the service we provide. There is so much more to your website that just plugins and the framework and some of these other areas are more vulnerable. For example, forms often fail and filling out those forms is one of our foundational pieces of our plans.
For these reason, having a trained web specialist on hand to monitor the website is necessary to update plugins, rollback plugins, replace plugins or even adjust the theme to continue optimal performance is a great investment for your website. We ensure that the whole site stays healthy, not just the framework and plugins.
Isn’t it the developer’s job to look after my site?
Going back to that car analogy, your dealership has no more control over what happens to your car than a developer does with your website. Like a dealership who recommends a service plan to extend the life of your vehicle, a responsible developer will suggest website care plans like this one, to keep your site safe. Like a dealership, a good developer will offer a warranty, but like the dealer, that warranty may be void if you fail to maintain your website.
Can I do these things myself?
A lot of the tasks on these lists are things that you can do yourself. But why would you want to? Unless you’re super keen to roll up your sleeves and dive into some pretty geeky stuff (which, some people do) you’ve likely got better things to do.
The reality is that while some of this stuff is simple, some of this stuff is technical to get set up, it requires software you need to research, set up, subscriptions to buy, etc.. When you translate the amount you pay for the subscriptions and add that to what your time is worth in your business, you will likely be paying double.
Can I pay annually rather than monthly?
At this point, we don’t offer annual plans, and we make billing easy with automatic payments directly to your credit card, but if you are interested, contact us and let’s discuss.
I can’t decide on a plan... How do I know which is best for my website?
It can be difficult to know what plan is right for you. We’re happy to chat with you and hear a little more about your needs and we can pair you up with a plan that works best. This is a low pressure decision, if you feel like you’ve picked the wrong plan, you can switch to the one you feel is better at any time.
Can I switch plans if my business grows, or if I think I bought the wrong one?
If you feel like you’ve picked the wrong plan, you can switch to the one you feel is better at any time. Size up or size down, we want you to feel like the plan you have works best for you. That’s what matters most to us.
Why pay $125 a month when I can get hosting at other places for $5.00 a month?
This is a great question. The internet is full of bold claims and deals that look spectacular. Sometimes the truth is buried deep in the details, and this especially true when it comes to websites. It can be really hard for consumers to know what is the right product or service for them, when everybody is telling you what they offer is “right” for you.
The answer is not a silver bullet, and companies prey on consumers because of this. The first step is to find out what your needs are. This can be hard, because like your car that’s rattling, you likely need a mechanic to help you figure out what you need. The same goes for your website. You may need somebody a little geeky to help you determine what kind of hosting you need, what kind of plugins, security, etc. you need.
Once you know what you need, you can now compare apples to apples. You can eliminate all of the providers who aren’t offering what you need. Of who is left standing, you can dive into all the bold claims and get down to the facts. But beware, there’s hidden things like, what is the quality of what you’re getting? Is the hosting on a good server that runs fast? Or is it on an old server that fails often and the software on it is so old your site doesn’t work properly?
The reality is that when you work with a reputable firm, you are getting the right tools for the right job, by people who have your best interest at heart. They are experience professionals who have amassed years of knowledge that they put to work for you in the solutions they offer. The answer is one we’ve all heard before: You get what you pay for. But when you use a reputable firm, you know you’re getting what’s right for you, and they’ll stand behind their work.
